Hours and Admission

The Colonel Davenport House is open Thursday to Saturday from 12-4 p.m. Admission includes a guided tour of the historically-furnished Colonel Davenport House and grounds. You'll see how the family lived in the 1800s and learn how the area developed.

Adults: $6
Seniors 65 and older: $4
12 yrs. and under: Free
Active Military: Free

The Colonel Davenport House has registered as a Blue Star Museum for 2022. Active duty military personnel and their families are offered free regular admission from Armed Forces Day (May 21) to Labor Day (Sept. 5).*

The Rock Island Arsenal is an active military installation.  All visitors must enter through the downtown Moline (Illinois) gate.  Visitors who do not have an approved Department of Defense identification card and are 18 years old or older must obtain a visitor pass at the Visitor Control Center. It only takes a few minutes to get this pass.

To obtain a credential:

  • Visit the Visitor Control Center located at 23 Prospect Drive, Moline, Illinois 61265(Google Map)
  • Visitors must complete a favorable criminal background check before entry.
  • To expedite the process, print this form, fill it out, and bring it  the Visitor Control Center.
  • Foreign Nationals are not allowed access, unless visiting for Official Business.
  • All first time visitors must process through the Visitor Control Center (Outside Moline Gate). All first time visitors must present a valid state identification card, driver’s license or valid U.S. Passport to obtain a visitor pass.
